When I was a kid I loved the movie THE BLACK HOLE. I think I actually just really loved the robot designs more than anything else in the movie cause they stole the show. Well that’s not entirely true, the score was phenomenal also, John Barry did a masterful job of scoring the film.
I gotta say after having just watched it again for the first time in say 25 years or so, that the ending is, how can I put this, a bit heavy handed. I still really enjoyed the movie but the ending just kinda stuck in my throat a bit and was hard to swallow.
As a kid this one got a 5/5, but as an adult I’m gonna have to subtract a few points for ham-fisted ending that is kinda silly. 4.25/5, a good watch for sure and pretty enjoyable even thought they beat you over the head with the ending :D

Upon Viewing Oregon's Landscape With the Flood of Detritus by Titus Andronicus from the album: Titus Andronicus LLC Mixtape Vol. 1

shortformblog:

So Titus Andronicus, basically the best band on the planet right now, has a new single out. Here it is. It’s called “Upon Viewing Oregon’s Landscape With the Flood of Detritus,” and it’s part of a free mixtape called “Titus Andronicus LLC Mixtape Vol 1,” which lead singer and mastermind Patrick Stickles just released last night. Excuse us while we freak out.

Social media observation of the day. Facebook is full of the KONY 2012 video (http://vimeo.com/37119711) and my Tumblr is just a whole lot of people really pissed at KONY (http://neil-gaiman.tumblr.com/post/18900935579/i-think-this-is-what-im-most-comfortable-posting-on).

As it is, plenty of water is sloshing around behind most of the state’s dams. Lake Oroville, the primary storage reservoir for the State Water Project, is xx percent of capacity, which is xxx percent of normal for this time. Shasta Lake, which is part of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s Central Valley Project and is the largest reservoir in the state, is currently at xx percent of capacity, or xxx percent of normal.

Sierra snow survey finds hardly any - SFGate

Only XXX percent of normal! Good old SF Chronicle, always a quality publication with eagle-eyed copyeditors.
